COOKBOOK PHOTO OUTTAKES & TWO Favors

Cookbooks require many, many, many photos and many photos don't make the cut

Y’all.

It is about to be book tour time. Like…I am coming to CITIES NEAR YOU in 75 days. And that time is getting closer and closer. (Comment on this post to tell me where you’ll be meeting up with me! I’m still building my city list! So let’s see where you want me!)

This week, I am not sharing anything I’ve written that’s new because I am currently enjoying the sunshine of Fuerteventura, Canary Islands right now. And I am working on a piece about cuisine in far-flung and unexpected places sometimes being the most exciting. Where I am chronicling my travels back to a Japanese restaurant, on the Canary Islands, that quite literally changed my life.

A) Opening a restaurant in France is a doozy and an adventure BUT WE ARE CLOSE!
B) Planning a book tour as an author with a significant platform (y’all and my other mailing lists!), but small social media is a dooooozy.
C) The current state of the world and *gestures to all this* is A LOT for a neurodivergent, queer, emotive, justice driven, kindness-focused human.

BUT! IN THESE TIMES, we all need some beauty. So…I need to gush for a second and bring some beauty to your inbox.

These are *mostly outtakes* from the cookbook shoot (I think all of them are actually! BUT there might be one sneaky actual photo in there). All of these were taken by Emma Lee, at La Peetch and my home Douces Fleurs Farm. (The house I have yet to really even post about because…I’VE BEEN BUSY WRITING MOSTLY FRENCH!)
